Hi-Res Monitor

The term "Hi-res" when applicd to a monitor in the Summit Series means a monitor that requires a digital connection frequency that exceens 165 MHz This generally means a Dual Link connection, as is the case with monitors with the popular 2560x1600 resolution.

While a monitor with 1920x1200, also a very popular resolution, might be considered high-resolution when next to a 1024x768 workhorse unit, it does not require a DualLink channel. However, some graphics cards such as the popular Matrox G450 and G550, cannot drive 1920x1200 in digital mode. When using the analog mode, the monitor fidelity will suffer somewhat.
